Kalina Smith graduated
from Harvard College with a degree in the history of science.
She is originally from Abbotsford, British Columbia, a city
one hour outside of Vancouver, where she grew up on her family's
dairy farm. Kalina's interests include backpacking, education,
and dance. She was a member of the Crimson Dance Team as an
undergraduate, and taught dance with CityStep, a non-profit
organization geared toward teaching fifth and sixth graders
creative forms of self-expression.
After her graduation
from Harvard, and prior to joining Quest full-time, Kalina
spent four months experiencing urban school systems through
student teaching math and science at Mission Hill Middle School
in Boston.
Kalina is the director
of the Stanford Chapter of the Quest Scholars Program. She
has worked for Quest in various capacities for the past several
years, first as a summer counselor and later as the associate
director of Quest at Harvard. Most recently, following her
college graduation, Kalina served as the director of Quest's
Harvard Chapter.
