Quest Staff Member 2000,2001,2002 Quest Participant 1995

Hometown: Boulder Creek, CA School: Harvard
Medical School
|
| Brian Anderson was born and raised in Northern California.
Hailing from a small town nestled in the Redwood forest near
Santa Cruz, Brian moved to the East Coast for college. He graduated
cum laude in Anthropology from Harvard College in 2000. Currently
in his second year at Harvard Medical School, Brain hopes to
focus in pediatrics. Brian was a Quest participant in 1995,
a staff member in 2000, and the director of the Quest Scholars
Program at Harvard in 2001. While an undergraduate, Brian was
actively involved as President of the Native American Club,
where he helped to direct the annual Harvard Powwow, spent three
seasons working in the Admissions Office as the senior coordinator
for the recruitment of Native Americans, and coordinator of
the Children's Outdoor Directional Education Program (CODE),
which brings inner-city children into the outdoors. Brian was
an Intern for three years working for the Head Ethnologist of
the Peabody Museum of Archaeology and Ethnology. In 2000, he
was recognized by the Harvard Foundation and Harvard College
for outstanding achievements to intercultural and race relations
at Harvard University. At Harvard Medical School, Brian is actively
in the Multicultural Fellows Committee, representing all student
ethnic groups on Student Council and will begin serving as a
member of the Admissions Committee in the fall of 2002. Outside
of Quest, Brian loves outdoor activities. He enjoys spending
his time backpacking, fly-fishing, running, playing basketball
and ultimate Frisbee, bowling, reading and dancing. Some of
his major interests include pediatric medicine, social justice,
outdoors education, environmental protection and working with
children. |
