Candice Cherk
Quest Participant 2002, Staff Member 2005

Hometown:
South San Francisco, California School: Swarthmore
Majors:
Biology, Asian Studies

Candice is a thoughtful young woman who seeks to understand those around her. Her empathetic nature is manifested in her love for deep conversations, especially those that lead to the discovery of qualities in an acquaintance or a friend. She admires courage, personal strength, and kindness, three qualities that she hopes to exude to others. Her love for laughter is indicative of her pursuit for happiness in all situations. Family is the most important aspect of her life; her mother and her brother provide stability and support in all of her endeavors. With her double major in Asian studies and biology, Candice hopes to one day truly understand what it means to be an Asian female in America, while also positively impacting society through scientific research. Candice will be studying abroad in Beijing, China in the fall of 2005, and returning to Swarthmore College as a junior in the spring of 2006.
