Sumeet Bhatti
Quest Staff Member 2003
Quest Participant 2000,2001

Hometown: Fresno, CA School: Stanford

Sumeet entered the Quest community as a scholar in 2000, one year after emigrating from India. While her experiences taught her about the structural problems of developing nations, she realizes that she must acquire a deep understanding of herself before she can cultivate the rich awareness necessary to reach out to others. She will be a sophomore at Stanford in the fall of 2003, studying international economics, philosophy, and dance. She wants to love her life and enjoy every moment of it; especially the elemental moments of joy that comprise ultimate satisfaction. She derives much happiness from friendships born of mutual respect and admiration as well as the internal tranquility of meditation. Her determination to succeed in life stems from the confidence instilled in her by her father, while her unconditionally affectionate mother inspires in her a genuine caring for others. She attributes her friendliness to her close relationship with her sister, Roop, with whom she can speak both playfully and meaningfully. Always aware of the broader perspective on reality, her spirited and perceptive nature is ever questioning herself and her surroundings.
